Poor first 45 cost us. A shame not to move through after the brilliant Argentina win but the Olympics are really about the next generation & it looks relatively bright. Deng, Souttar, Atkinson, McGree, Metcalfe, Tilio, Arzani all look to be future Socceroo regulars. #AUSvEGY

Arzani, worth someone bringing him home and starting 27 games in the AL. These are the things GA should work on now.

i swear arzani been on this mfs radar for a decade now 😂😭

But I still think there’s positives. Individuals like Atkinson, Metcalfe, McGree, Souttar & Deng excelled in the first two games, while Arzani offered a reminder of his quality. The Argentina win remains special, but it needs to become more of a blueprint than just a fond memory.

Seen quite a lot of criticism of Arzani on here during #Tokyo2020, but the kid just has so much talent, it’s a bit sad to see it be taken for granted. Needs a better situation, hopefully with consistent game time & confidence so he can grow into the player his potential suggests

@scout_aussie Arzani just needs to find a club to give him first team minutes and he will flourish.

@Socceroos Really disappointed for our team. It was a great achievement to reach the Olympics. We’ve also nurtured some good players. Players like Glover, Atkinson, Deng, Tilio & Arzani will probably be in Socceroos squads for years to come. #Olyroos

#olyroos lost this in the coaches box. Started the game with no urgency, no Arzani, and complete complacency (wishing for a draw). Even now, Egypt up 2-0 and pressing 😒

I just hope Arzani gets a proper move and fixes his career from here, he can be so good he just needs game time

Pretty flat after that. Disappointing finish from the Olyroos to not get through after the big win in the first match. Gee, Arzani has a future though

@Socceroos What’s happened in the attacking third? Against Argentina we moved the ball forward with conviction, against Spain and Egypt we look scared to attack! Bring on arzani and Reno and go for it!

Daniel Arzani and his actual desire to have the ball would be pretty handy right now. #Tokyo2020 #AUSvEGY

There is no one in Australian football that possesses what arzani has. No one. I know he’s had his issues but gee he is class

Arzani has worked incredibly hard in this first half, summed up by tracking back half the pitch and making a crucial intervention. Decent half defensively from the Olyroos. #AUSvESP #Tokyo2020

Really interested to see how G Arnold plays his subs. Tilio and Arzani on at the same time perhaps relieves more pressure when we get it back. But Wales is doing well to help Atkinson defensively. Middle 3 are doing ok against the movement of Spain, but for how long?

Arzani still has whatever it is he had that made him stand out in the 2018 WC (and in the A-League)… he just needs to play regularly and get fit to give us the end product. Do that and we’ve got a gem #AUSvESP

Arzani nearly scored amazing goal in 1st minute… and then under fatigue unlocked Argy defence for McGree/Wales gilt edged chance at 1-0 (which if converted sees him lauded). Gave ball away few too many times - but a nearly night for a gifted player. #olyroos

The prospect of the Arzani-Tilio double punch – for now, one for 60-70 mins and the other taking over vs. tired legs – is bloody enticing, both here and potentially at senior level. #ARGvAUS

@NickStoll Wouldn’t have been possible without Arzani coming off. Credit him with an assist 😉

Arzani has had more turnovers today that your average bakery. Hook him. I have had enough. #ARGvAUS

¿Australia? Un equipo ordenado, bien estructurado y peligroso en ataque tanto por banda izquierda (Arzani-King) como derecha (Wales-Atkinson). A Argentina le falta creación y desequilibrio. Barco me gustó. ¿Quién más podría aportar? Payero.

Expect ref to square it up and send off an Olyroo at first opportunity. Arzani looks gassed. Surely Tilio time incoming. #ARGvAUS

Love seeing Arzani back but man he’s giving the ball back far too often #Tokyo2020 #ARGvAUS

I’d hook Arzani for Tilio at half time. He’s losing the ball every single time he gets it.

Arzani flying. Australia beating Argentina. McGree nearly scoring a bicycle. Am I dreaming this??? #ARGvAUS

@glenndwyer @HarryMacDougall Yeah I don’t get the Arzani hype yet, tbh. Happy for him to make me eat my words tho!

“It just hasn’t come off for Arzani yet”, wait you’re talking about this game or his career ?

Good, positive start. Arzani linking up well with King on the left, Atkinson looking dangerous.
