@bikeymikey70 @BelindaJones68 I believe more than just Ministerial Standards. Accepting money without transparency is tantamount to taking a bribe, offering it is tantamount to an inducement. Try doing that with a bit of loose cash when you give a copper your DL. I believe criminality aspect must be checked

Blind Freddy knows this is not on. Morrison is too week to make a decision himself in the face of blatant disregard of ministerial standards.

Christian Porter’s ministerial future is again on the line, with Scott Morrison seeking advice on whether his receiving money for his legal bills from a “blind trust” breaches the ministerial standards code, ; Michelle Grattan. Whitewash?

A sign #auspol has hit peak corruption is that a sitting PM has to ask for advice whether a blind trust donation to one of his ministers meets ministerial standards.

Porter could be forced to repay anonymous donations for his legal fees or declare the donors’ identities after the PM requested advice over whether he breached ministerial standards by accepting payments through a blind trust, :Lisa Visentin & Rob Harris

@JJKALE2 Why yes ! Now that you mention it ..freedum by external Plus a little ministerial standards waffle ..and

Oh right! Could breach ministerial standards? Morrison is nothing but a dishonest amoral shyster.

So it wasn’t credible allegations of violent rape that caused Liberals to consider abandoning Porter, but breach of ministerial standards. Good to know they have limits.

Scott Morrison: Does Christian Porter’s gift from a blind trust breach ministerial standards? Blind Freddy: Yes. PM’s Department: Not sure. Leave it with us. We’ll look into it thoroughly. Could take a while.

He needs advice on this? What the point in being PM if you don’t know what your own standards are. Scott Morrison seeks advice on whether Christian Porter mystery legal fee donation breaches ministerial standards

Scott Morrison first has to ask what ministerial standards are. Scott Morrison seeks advice on whether Christian Porter mystery legal fee donation breaches ministerial standards - ABC News

The #IntegrityAct could be used to make political mischief. That must not happen. So a robust process is required if an MP or minister is accused of breaking the ministerial code or standards in public life. 6/13

We have the standards we need. The ministerial code and the principles of public life (often known as the #NolanPrinciples). They are fit for purpose. They just need to be enforced. Read them. It takes but a moment. 2/13

@suzyq5 @barriecassidy I bet a great many Australians care about this. It is curious that Morrison has to refer it to someone else in order to determine if Porter has breached ministerial standards. Surely he should be able to determine that himself. You’d think…

Mr Morrison should do his job, enforce his own ministerial standards and tell Mr Porter to either give the money back, or come clean on who his financial backers are,” said shadow attorney-general Mark Dreyfus.

Since when has anyone in the LNP been worried about Ministerial standards? Surely this is a joke.

...Ministers must also comply with any additional requirements for declarations of interests to the PM as may be determined by the Hey @ScottMorrisonMP Statement on Ministerial Standards says can ask @cporterwa who the donors are and what trust deed says … #auspol

Ministerial standards?! What about the pub test! — Prime Minister seeking advice on Porter’s blind trust legal fees

@bikeymikey70 @marxdeane We definitely have an election approaching. This (still low) level of ministerial accountability and semblance of standards is by far higher than anything we’ve seen from Morrison ever

PM on a few watches: “I’m appalled, it’s disgraceful and it’s not on. She can go!” PM on an enormous sum of cash: “let me seek advice from my department on any implications for the Ministerial Standards”

@MikeCarlton01 He has turned a blind eye to Ministerial standards so far, I cannot see this being different.

Ministerial standards ? What are those ? Anything goes . 🥳🤪😜🤠🤑🤡

This is quite the test for Ministerial Standards. If nothing is found then the Standards are worthless.

Breaking: Prime Minister Scott Morrison has requested advice on whether Industry Minister Christian Porter has breached ministerial standards by accepting anonymous payments for his defamation case against the ABC. #auspol

@RonniSalt ‘I have sought advice & they’ve informed me there’s nothing specifically in breach with the ministerial standards’ >if the advice isn’t public he can say whatever he wants He didn’t say he’s seeking advice on non compliance with foreign interference/election funding rules…

Genuine question. Is the PM’s department the body that normally investigates Ministerial Standards?

BREAKING: PM has today sought advice on whether the blind trust arrangement conforms to the ministerial standards more to come. @newscomauHQ

Question: how does this sit with the Ministerial Code of Conduct, that’s a question for PM. Code here Parliament’s privileges committee, which administers the register, is also now expecting referrals which can be made by anyone

The PM’s Statement of Ministerial Standards states that Ministers “must not seek or encourage any form of gift in their personal capacity.  Ministers must also comply with the requirements of the Parliament and the Prime Minister relating to the declaration of gifts.” #auspol
