One of the best movies of all time IMO. Big laughs, real emotions. @SteveMartinToGo at and the late Legend John Candy both delivering flawless performances. An absolute classic.

If he had lived long enough, what role would John Candy be playing in the MCU right now?

John Candy was our national treasure but we were happy to share him with the world. Miss him so much.

John Candy should have been nominated for an Oscar for Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.

@MdaVs_Podcast Viel besser geht es nicht. Als ich den das erste Mal gesehen habe, habe ich geheult, als John Candy seine Ich mag mich-Rede hält.

@pattonoswalt I loved that film. I loved Uncle Buck too. John Candy just brought so much warmth and pathos to his characters and Im now feeling rather nostalgic. He was hilarious.

Delighted to see that John Candy is trending this morning. I adored him when I was a kid and found this to be an interesting read. 🙂 #GoodMorning #JohnCandy

This is true, every year! I still miss John Candy. A man modelled after the physique of Santa himself, and his movies always make Mrs Claus chuckle #HoHoHo #JohnCandy

@littlejackieboy I can watch this movie time and time I use to dream of being on set with John Candy and @SteveMartinToGo ! I love these guys.

@WaterDean One of the best movies when you want to laugh. John Candy and Steve Martin were the best!

⁦@PegLulu2⁩ “Steve Martin” Unfortunately Steve Martin & John Candy weren’t driving a DeLoren in going to the future in seeing @CNN give Biden worst polling Numbers than Jimmy Carter!👀

@Y2John84 John Candy’s smile at the end. That was the man he was in real life. A lovely lovely man.

@JuulLanng Fin liste. Det minder mig om, at det er længe siden jeg har set John Candy spille halstørklæde-saxofon til Mess around med Ray Charles. Fantastisk scene. Min er: Die Hard Bad Santa No country for old men (julefilm er film man *altid* ser til jul ... ) Winking face

@mizabitha We all know that Cindy married the wrong Russell brother. Also John Candy is king of the Christmas film. This, Trains, Planes & Automobiles and his cameo in Home Alone mean the quality is unmatched

Just re-watching PLANES TRAINS & AUTOMOBILES last night & have to marvel at the brilliant artistry of John Candy, John Hughes and @SteveMartinToGo. Really rode that line between drama and comedy to such a heartbreaking effect, particularly in this scene:

Question about “Planes, Trains and Automobiles:” Why wasn’t John Candy nominated for an Academy Award (let alone a winner)? It’s a classic buddy comedy (every scene works), held together by his performance. Yeah, the Academy hates comedy, but this one endures 34 years on.

John Candy’s line, “I like me. My…my wife likes me.” from Planes, Trains and Automobiles not only gets me everytime, it’s also literally a line I say to myself whenever anyone tries to make me feel like I’m “too much” for them.

DER Film für die Feiertage! Highly underrated - highly entertaining! John Candy und Steve Martin in absoluter Hochform!

a salute to some faces john candy makes in PLANES, TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES

@pattonoswalt Del Griffith holding back the tears when he says “I like…I like me” is John Candy at his finest. It’s so heartbreaking. It’s up there with Buck Russell’s perfect composure and sadness when he picks Tia up after her breakup with Bug in Uncle Buck. ❤️

John Candy is reading a book called the Canadian Mounted. How appropriate. #PlanesTrainsAndAutomobiles

Steve Martin was 42 and John Candy 37 when “Planes, Trains & Automobiles” came out in 1987. Im 43 and my mind is blown by this.

In Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987), there appears to be a shower curtain ring on the ground where Neal Page (Steve Martin) had his cab stolen by someone. Soon after we learn that it was shower curtain ring salesman Del Griffith (John Candy) who mistakenly took his cab. …

@deadphishesq Dude, I love this movie 1. Steve Harvey and John Candy 2. John Hughes 3. A “thanksgiving” movie 4. It has the Home Alone house in it

It was much funnier than I remembered! Proper laugh out loud. John Candy is incredible. Steve Martin is incredible. By my count there were only jokes in the whole movie that we now know definitely are hurtful and insensitive. The benefit of nearly 40 years growth

I am once again telling you all that under no uncertain terms, John Candy was a fucking babe

@pattonoswalt I don’t know that there’s another actor, I miss more, than John Candy.

@PE_Dahl Tough shoes to fill. I’ll say Jason Bateman or Jason Sudekis as Steve Martin and Tracy Morgan or Will Arnette as John Candy.

@CindyBegel John Candy is the spirit guide as Steve Martin journeys through the Wilderness of Chaos to find the Grail. (His heart). Like Remains of the Day, one leaves the safe path to discover the hidden.
