One of the three people slain in a suspected terror attack at a Catholic church in Nice, France, was identified as a father and beloved caretaker of the church, reports said Thursday.

Members of the Nice community remembered Vincent Loques, 54, who was in the Notre Dame basilica as it was stormed by a suspected terrorist, who beheaded him and killed two other people in the knife attack.

“Thoughts for Vincent Loquès, sacristan of the Basilica of Notre Dame de Nice cowardly murdered by an Islamist terrorist,” local politician Eric Ciotti said in a tweet, according to The Sun.

Loques was a father of two who was setting up the church for the upcoming All Saints Day when the suspect, identified as 21-year-old Brahim Aouissaoui, stormed the church.

Aouissaoui, a Tunisian immigrant, was reportedly shot by police while shouting “Allahu akbar!” after the attack that killed Loques, a woman in her 70s and a woman in her 30s.
